Is Warzone 2 Going To Flop!?

Alright, what’s up everyone! Hope you’re all having a good day. Activision just dropped the Warzone 2 preview, and honestly, it looks pretty dope. I’m not gonna lie, there are a few things I have some opinions on, but overall, it seems true to what we expect from Warzone. But remember, it’s just a preview. You really gotta play it to get a good feel. I think the more you play, the better understanding you’ll have.

With the new map, it’s hard to comment too much without playing. Caldera looked amazing when it first dropped, but the more people played, the more they realized it was all one giant mountain and people didn’t vibe with it. Maps are just something you gotta experience. But they’ve got some crazy POIs and brought back some classic COD maps, so this could be really good. I like the buildings and towers, and it feels like that Verdansk vibe from the Modern Warfare era. I’m pretty optimistic about that.

Some people are commenting on the lack of a drastic graphical upgrade, but we’re still limited by older hardware like PS4s and lower-end PCs. There’s only so much the map can handle. But honestly, for the most part, I think it looks pretty cool. I still think it’s a bit too desaturated, there’s still a lot of grayness. They say they’ve added more color, but I’m not seeing it. PC players will probably be using those NVIDIA filters to crank up the vibrance. Activision seemed to think it was colorful as hell and they really added a whole new color palette to it but I’m just not saying it still seems a very gray very sandy very you know depressing.

Looting is just different. It feels more like Apex, where you open a crate and pick and choose what you want. They’ve also limited how much you can hold, introducing backpacks. Honestly, I think it’s one of those things you just get used to. I don’t think it’s going to have a lasting impact on the game. Some people are complaining that it’s slower and you have to click through menus, but it makes sense with cash registers and random items. It’s a lateral change, not necessarily progress or a step backward.

Heartbeat sensors: I think it’s a big W, especially with the battery. No more spamming the heartbeat and running around hoping to find someone. You’ve gotta be more tactical. A lot of tactical grenades have limitations now too. For aggressive players, it won’t change much, they’ll just tap it once in a while. But for campers, it’ll make them reconsider when and how they use it.

The fuel in cars is a bit weird. You can only drive a certain distance before running out of gas and having to fill up at a gas station. I don’t know if you have to pay for gas or if it’s free. But no more just grabbing the most wanted and driving around the map. You’ve gotta be more thoughtful about how you move and make yourself a target. I’m sure we’ll see people watching gas stations, as that’s where the most vulnerable players will be heading. It could make for some easy kills. But for me, COD has always been arcadey. Adding fuel to cars puts it more in the simulation, Battlefield type of thing that I could kind of do without.

AI bots were a bit weird, but after watching more of the video, they’re optional. If you don’t engage them, they won’t chase you around. They’re not out to get kills, they’re more like keepers of loot. Kill them, and they might reveal some loot or be protecting areas with loot. No more going on scavengers without a gun. From what I saw, they were pretty light, like one or two-shot kills. If one does grief you, it just increases the way you play, you can’t just run around blindly. It might get annoying, but I don’t think they’ll hinder the game too much.

Movement is a big one. They took out slide canceling, so no more TikTokers bragging about being movement kings. They’ve reduced your ability to slide around and run full speed all the time. I thought it was a fun part of Modern Warfare 2019, even though I wasn’t the greatest at it. It made the game feel fast. This has a lot of players pissed because they’re getting rid of a mechanic they learned, loved, and mastered. They’re going back to traditional COD mechanics. I think pretty soon you’re just not gonna even notice it missing.

The Gulag, in my opinion, is one of the bigger changes. Right now, it’s a big L. 2v2 with a random, no starting gun. That has to go. I apologize in advance to anyone who gets stuck in the Gulag with me, because I probably won’t carry my weight. They also added an AI in the Gulag who, if you kill, freezes everyone out of the Gulag. So you can just go after the AI. It’s interesting, where you end up in the Gulag with your teammate and a 2v2 happens. It could be a redemption arc, or you could just hate each other more. It might just make you guys hate be like why the hell do you suck so bad. I don’t know man, go back to the traditional 1v1 Gulags. And now you don’t even start with your weapon, you gotta go on the ground looking for a gun. Maybe it’ll become second nature, but it just seems like too much of a change.

We talked a bit about the inventory system when it came to looting. Not only do you have to navigate menus, but they also limit how much you can hold. You can find backpacks, and maybe the more you hold, the slower you move. It’s your choice of whether you want to be light or not. It’s that arcadey versus simulation vibe. Maybe we just got used to not having to do too much inventory management in previous CODs. Now, this feels very much more like a PUBG or Apex type of mechanic that they thought we needed to bring over. I personally don’t think you did, but we’ll see how it plays out.

Multi-circles: I’m okay with it for now. It’ll definitely reduce people who camp the circle and rat all the way in for the final kill. It means you’ve gotta be a little more active, and I think it could speed the game up and create more interesting final game moments.

No loadouts is weird. Instead of buying a loadout, you go to the buy station and buy your primary weapons, and apparently, you can buy add-ons for your weapons. Loadouts were such a big part of the first Warzone, and I honestly don’t think they needed to mess with it. Buying your guns is cool, but that means each player is just going to be calculating and spreading the money around so that each one can buy their guns. I mean it’s more math than we want to do right. Maybe this makes it easier and faster to get the guns sooner, but a loadout was such a big thing really well we’re not going to have loadout drops that you can aim for when you drop in the final circle or you know going full scene to a lot of on your death or on your revive after the goo leg it’s just one of those things it’s a game mechanic that i didn’t know that they needed to get rid of. I don’t know how this one’s going to change things overall, but I don’t think they needed to mess with the loadout overall.

Proximity chat: Games in the past have had proximity chat they got rid of proximity chat because I’m guessing she got way too toxic. I’m glad they brought it back, but it’s going to be one of those things that it seems like it’s a great thing to have it’ll make some for some great ass content up until you know of course you have some dudes swearing and cussing and becomes like a whole toxic mess and I’m sure if you want to and it becomes really irritating and annoying you can just mute it but imagine that dude with like that horrible mic or kids screaming and you’re just like what the [ __ ] now not only do you have to meet some teammates you have to meet these randoms or you got to just turn proximity chat overall and honestly maybe if to combat the toxic like you know just people cussing and saying a whole bunch of slurs and all that all the time you know google and zoom can auto transcript you know conference calls live I’m sure cod can too and that just kind of monitors the chat and if someone’s just being like a complete nutter it just auto bans them or something or auto mutes them seems like an easy way to get around it and I’m guessing if it really really bothers you you can always just turn it off it’s one of those things that you can’t really control in a game like this but honestly it’s a feature I’d rather have than not have by default and if you want to opt out opt out.

They also introduced a new mode called DMZ, which I never really got into Escape From Tarkov, so I’m not sure who the intended audience here is for this mode. Honestly people who play escape from tarkov i dont know if this is going to be enough to make them be like well this new war zone mode so much better than our like look you can’t be mad at activision for trying new things but i just don’t know if it’s going to sway tarkov players or you know h1g z1 players over to make that switch back to cod. So yeah, that’s my thoughts on all the main changes. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. Tweet at me if I’m out of line on some of these things. As always, I appreciate you guys watching the video. Be sure to like and subscribe. I’m definitely looking forward to jumping back on Warzone 2 with the boys and curling it up and biting it up. Hey, if you see me in the Gulag again, my bad!

Ai Header Image Prompt: A high-quality, ultra-detailed digital art banner image in a dynamic anime style. The scene depicts a stylized, somewhat abstract urban combat zone, dominated by a desaturated, gritty color palette of muted grays, sandy browns, and dull blues. Sharp, vibrant lines of electric blue, neon green, and glowing orange energy cut through the environment, hinting at advanced technology, strategic points, or the 'vibrance' sought by players. Fragmented architectural elements, reminiscent of towering buildings and ruins, are rendered with abstract geometric precision, conveying a sense of verticality and a sprawling map. Atmospheric effects like dust, subtle smoke, and volumetric lighting create depth and tension. The composition is dynamic, featuring sweeping motion lines and blurred elements that suggest rapid movement and evolving gameplay mechanics, without depicting specific characters or overt weapon models.
