Good Ol' Communal Violence - Monday!
Yo, good morning! It’s Monday, and I hope you’re all having a beautiful start to your week. Nothing like waking up to some good ol’ communal violence, holy smokes! I got a message from a friend this morning, or rather, I sent it last night and read it this morning. He’s like, “You guys have officially become annoying.” I was like, “What do you mean?” He says, “As if the Palestinians and Israelis beefing every weekend wasn’t bad enough, now we gotta deal with your [stuff].” I’m like, “What do you mean? Like, you freaking Hindus and Sikhs going at it?”
Chill, brother! It’s not Hindus versus Sikhs. We love Hindus. It’s this Indian government that bothers us, you know what I mean? And they brought a war over here. We didn’t bring it. They are the ones allegedly assassinating people in front of Gurdwaras. We didn’t do that. Just remember.
But yeah, I do think we’re at a point where we need some sort of rules to this [stuff]. I don’t think protesting outside of Mandirs, regardless of who’s coming or not coming, matters. It’s like when your kids fight; at some point, you’re just like, “I don’t care who started it. You both need to stop and get your [stuff] in order.” I feel like that’s generally how society feels, and I kind of agree with that.
Look, I’m not saying we shouldn’t protest. I’m saying we need to start coming up with certain levels of civility with this [stuff]. No protests outside Gurdwaras, synagogues, mosques, or Mandirs. Places of worship are off-limits. Schools, religious schools, all that [stuff] is off-limits. Everywhere else, like consulates, is fair game. Honestly, just keep it in front of consulates and counter-protests at city halls and stuff. That’s fair game. But leave the religious places and the schools out of it. I think that’s fair. This is me reaching out with an olive branch and a cup of coffee, saying, let’s squash some of this [stuff] and do it like that.
But who am I? I’m a guy on freaking TikTok talking [stuff], and meanwhile, everyone else is like, “Why can’t you guys just get to what really matters?” “Why can’t we get Pierre in there?” “Why can’t we just go back to saying ‘F Trudeau’ or the Leafs sucking and talk about real things?” Hey, it’s inevitable, brother.
