Australia Banning Social Media?? - Saturday!

Good morning, it is minus one degree! Holy smokes, it’s actually Saturday! The weeks go by fast. It was a crazy week, but it’s chilly. I don’t know how I’m going to do this when things get colder. Once there’s snow on the ground, I’m doing these things from inside, man. I don’t think I can sit out here; I probably won’t even have a chair. I’ve got to do a whole fall teardown.

Oh! Happy birthday to my beautiful son! He’s turning four today. Crazy, we kept a kid alive for four years! It’s insane and makes me feel all grown up and warm and fuzzy inside. But yo, talking about kids, Australia is banning kids from social media. If you’re under 16, you ain’t allowed on Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, or Facebook. And apparently, you might not be allowed on YouTube, so you won’t be able to see these videos. That’s going to be sad, but it’s probably also a good thing.

Growing up without social media, I feel like we lucked out. I can only imagine how messed up our brains are getting. Our brains are getting messed up as adults on social media! We’ve got to ban social media for everybody, even as adults. These algorithms are pushing people. People are crying and saying Trump won or whatever else is going on, and it’s crazy, right? Like the emotional investment and the weird parasocial relationships we develop with these apps is insane. But I don’t know how Australia is going to actually do it. They said they’re going to introduce some sort of government ID that you’ve got to use to sign up for these apps, and parental consent can’t be given. The government ID thing is kind of shady.

Anyways, wild times. I’m kind of cold, so I’m trying to get through this and just say what’s up, y’all. Y’all have a safe day, man. Have a great day. It’s supposed to be sunny; hopefully, it warms up. It’d be crazy if this is how we’re already living. Who am I to complain living in Canada? Own up, man. All right, peace!

Ai Header Image Prompt: An abstract digital art banner. Focus on a fractured, glowing digital topography of the Australian continent, constructed from interconnected lines and fragmented data streams. Within and around this structure, visualize abstract elements of digital distortion, glitch effects, and cascading information, subtly suggesting network algorithms and restricted access. Employ a high-detail, intricate style with vibrant but contained neon accents against darker, atmospheric blues and purples. Avoid any discernible human figures, hands, or text. The overall aesthetic should be sophisticated and evocative, not overtly AI-generated. High quality, high level of detail.
