Yo, welcome to Thursday! Good morning, hope you guys are having a dope Thursday. Wow, looks like another day, another new social media network just takes off. BlueSky is aimed at replacing Twitter. I don’t know if it can, man. Every now and then, a new app comes and they’re like, ‘We’re going to replace Twitter.’ Threads tried, failed. I was kind of hoping Nostr would take off, but no one really messed with Nostr. And now it’s BlueSky’s turn, man. They’ve been just adopting and growing like crazy.

Twitter is a weird place, right? Because Elon bought Twitter, and Twitter was struggling before Elon bought it. Let’s not pretend like Twitter was the greatest place before Elon; it just became a worse place after Elon. And Elon’s whole thing, you know, ‘I’m doing this for free speech to protect the Constitution and protect your rights’ – man, a new study revealed that Twitter was actually swaying the election, that they changed the algorithm to be more biased towards right-leaning thoughts, which I guess is karma because previously they said, ‘Well, we found that Twitter was favoring left-leaning thought.’ So maybe the pendulum is just swinging. It is what it is, man.

Everyone, if you ever want to feel like you’re being manipulated and used, just read up on Cambridge Analytica. That was a while ago, and it’s only gotten worse. They are manipulating the way we think using these algorithms. It’s crazy, which kind of gives me hope for BlueSky because BlueSky isn’t algorithmic. It’s really just who you follow, you get their tweets. It’s all kind of organic in that way. Maybe eventually it’ll have more algorithms pushing stuff at you, I don’t know, but I always have been a big fan of protocols because protocols can’t be censored as easily. They can’t eventually be stopped and blocked, but we’ve seen how Twitter works against Sikhs, man. We’ve seen how all these platforms get weaponized against Sikhs, so makes me hopeful that we can get more decentralized platforms, which I don’t know if BlueSky will get there, but it can, so fingers crossed.

Anyways, man, we saw Threads fail. Hopefully, BlueSky succeeds because honestly, man, we just need more sites that allow us to post different places. I’m everywhere.
