Happy Gurpurbh Yo!! - Friday!
Yo, good morning! It’s Friday, and it’s also Gurpurb, the birthdate of the first Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the first of the ten gurus. Their opening philosophy and teaching was that there is one universal creator who is formless, shapeless, and takes shape in everything. This creator exists everywhere, is without fear and without hate, and you experience them by meditating and through the Guru’s grace. It’s a beautiful teaching. A lot of Western hippie cultures adopted Eastern philosophies that came from Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who was celebrated by all - Muslims, Hindus, everyone in India at that time gravitated towards them.
They created this new revolution, saying, ‘Listen, people are falling away from the religions and from this creator. They’re following people and not following this philosophy, falling away from God, really.’ So, it’s crazy, it’s beautiful. We’re celebrating today, and white girls are celebrating Taylor Swift, I guess. Yo, Taylor Swift is killing it in the city right now, it’s insane! I don’t think the city’s been this hyped for an artist. She’s at the next level, man. She blocked off the freaking highway! How I transition from Guru Nanak to T-Swift is wild; I’m insane. I’m going to go… they blocked off the damn highway! How is that even possible? How can you take an entire highway and be like, ‘Yeah, Taylor Swift’s coming, we got to clear the road’? The busiest highway in Canada, and they’re just like, ‘Hold up, Taylor Swift’s here.’ That’s power, if you ask me. What is power? That’s power when you can block off an entire freaking highway, oh brother! It’s insane.
