I Slept Through Tyson Vs Paul - Saturday!
Yo, good morning! It’s Saturday, let’s have a great one! Did you guys watch the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight? I wanted to watch it, I really did. I kinda figured it would be an entertaining fight fest, especially since I’m a huge Mike Tyson fan. Like everyone who grew up in the ’90s, Mike Tyson was something else. Tyson, Jordan, Gretzky – witnessing those guys live just leaves a stamp on your head, like, that’s greatness.
I was passively looking forward to watching the fight. At the same time, I had zero hope that Mike Tyson would perform at his peak, but there was a glimmer of ‘what if?’ Could Tyson come back? He’s old, he’s not going to be that young kid again. But still, that tiny bit of hope was there.
Well, I missed the fight. I slept through it! I fell asleep at 8 PM. That just shows how old I am. I was literally putting my kid to sleep, and I just passed out. Woke up 12 hours later to a beautiful Saturday morning! I saw the highlights, though, and it went exactly how most boxing analysts predicted: Tyson would come out hard, try to get him, and Jake would play it safe. By the end, they’d both be gassed because there’s no way Tyson was doing any kind of cardio for extended periods of time. Oh well, I guess I saved myself a few hours and got some sleep.
Today though, Jones versus Stipe. I’m actually looking forward to that fight. I think it’s going to be a lot more competitive, and I think Jones should win that one pretty easily, even though he only fights once every two years. I don’t know, man. I used to be a huge fight fan. Every weekend, every month, every pay-per-view, we’d have like 12 guys over in our basement watching. But as I got older, it became harder and harder to make time. After a while, you’re just like, ‘Whatever, man, we’ll just catch the highlights on Reddit.’ That’s just where we’re at now. Hey, age catches up with all of us. You just gotta make the best of it, enjoy it, and get your 12-hour naps in where you can. Anyways, ya’ll have a great Saturday, till the next one, peace!
