Kids Birthday Parties - Sunday!
Yo, good Sunday everyone! As I mentioned, Sundays always run late, there’s just no avoiding it. Yesterday was all about the kids’ birthday party. As parents, these parties are a unique coming-of-age experience. When they’re toddlers, you’re just watching them, they aren’t really doing anything or interacting with anyone, and definitely not letting you interact with anyone.
But when they get a little older, like our kids who are four and six, they actually play with each other and other kids! That leaves you hanging out with the other parents, making small talk, while still keeping an eye on your kids to make sure they’re not doing anything too crazy.
They’re nice, fun outings though. You get to meet people, see them, and then when it’s all said and done, you’re like, “Alright, I guess I’ll see you guys next year!”
Yesterday was particularly cool. They had animals! They brought animals out for the kids. At first, I was sitting far back, just thinking, “Oh, nice, cute.” Then I was like, “Let me get some better pictures with my kids and the animals.” So I got a little closer, and by the end of it, when they asked, “Who wants to pet the turtle?”, I was the first to shout, “Me! Me! Me!” I don’t know why I got so into looking at the animals, man.
