How Many Clothes Does One Need? - Saturday!

Yo, good morning! It’s Saturday and it’s a bit nippy out there. I’m rocking the ear protection today, gotta stay warm somehow.

So, yesterday, the wife had me cleaning out my closet, and it got me thinking: how many clothes does a person really need for a decent wardrobe? I’ve got way too much stuff. I’m a bit of a hoarder, I guess. I don’t throw stuff out too often, so I’ve amassed this giant collection of old sweatshirts, t-shirts, and other stuff. I always think, ‘Hey, they still fit, they look clean, they’re not stained, so why throw them out?’ Of course, if they’ve got holes, it’s a different story.

But it’s becoming cumbersome, all this laundry. So, what’s the minimalist amount of clothes a dude needs? I was thinking maybe five sweatshirts or hoodies (since they’re interchangeable), five to ten t-shirts, three pairs of sweatpants (maybe more if you hit the gym), one pair of jeans, one pair of khakis or slacks, and two jackets (one formal and one everyday).

But what’s the magic number? What’s the right amount of clothes to get through a year without stressing about shopping all the time? I even Googled it, but Google let me down. I found fashion blogs that were just pretentious. They were telling me I needed four pastel colored shirts to mix and match for a million outfits. Give me a break. I wanted a number, not a color palette!

Anyway, y’all have a dope day! It’s nice and bright, even if it’s nippy. Peace!

Ai Header Image Prompt: High quality, ultra detailed, abstract digital art. A sophisticated conceptual illustration exploring the dichotomy between abundance and essentialism, inspired by the search for ideal quantity. The primary color palette consists of cool, crisp tones: deep indigos, slate grays, and icy whites, accented by subtle, warm glows of soft amber and pale gold, evoking a bright but chilly morning. The composition features a compelling interplay of abstract forms: one side displays a dense, intricate cluster of interwoven, semi-transparent digital patterns and layered geometric shapes, suggesting overwhelming quantity and "stuff." This transitions fluidly into a contrasting section characterized by sparse, clean lines, minimalist arrangements of precise, glowing digital constructs, and a sense of calm order. Faint, abstract numerical patterns or subtle data visualizations are subtly integrated into the design, symbolizing the quest for "the right number." The overall aesthetic is highly detailed, with complex textures and luminous effects that ensure a non-AI, artistic quality. Abstract and symbolic, with no discernible human figures, hands, or limbs.
