Good afternoon, it is Monday, the last week of 2024! I’m not a big New Year’s resolution guy. I always feel like if you’re going to make changes, make them today. Don’t wait for a specific day, or even the weekend. Start right now!

That being said, I think New Year’s is a great opportunity to look back, see the progress you’ve made, and identify the little adjustments you want to make moving forward. It’s time afforded to you, even though you should be doing this all the time. I’m a big believer in goal setting. If you have goals, you have direction, and then you just have to work towards those goals with discipline.

So, I’ve been reflecting a little bit: what micro-adjustments do I want to make? What small things? A lot of times we make these grandiose goals, these grandiose plans, like, “This is what I’m going to do!” And half the time, by the end of week two, we’re done because it was just too big, and we didn’t have a proper plan. But if you make small, incremental changes, they add up. You’ll always hear me say incremental gains are the way to the future; it’s probably something I picked up from day trading. Incremental gains add up!

I was wondering, what incremental gains do I want to introduce into my life now? What’s one small thing that I could just do? I think it’s to drink more coffee! It sounds like a weird one, but my problem is I take caffeine in a lot of different ways: energy drinks, caffeine gummies, just all these other things. So, I’m thinking, you know what, let’s just narrow it down to drinking coffee: one cup in the morning and one cup in the evening if I need a boost to get through the night. I think that’s the one I’m kind of stuck on right now.

What about you guys? Anything you want, not a big thing, just one small thing, one little thing that you think you could do that’ll percolate and make something bigger happen later down the line? I don’t know… another one is I just gotta start walking again. This year, when I started, I was walking really good. Somewhere around June/July, I stopped walking, and now I’m feeling like I get winded walking up the stairs again! So I want to get back into walking; that’s going to be another one.
