America "NEEDS" To Control Tech!?- Satuday!

What’s up, everyone? It’s Saturday night, and I’m hitting you with a video from my car because life happens, and I’m running late. Can’t control everything, right? But I can control getting this video out.

So, I stumbled across this interesting discussion on Blue Sky today. It started with Mark Cuban talking about why big tech companies like Apple, Google, Facebook, and Twitter seem to be cozying up to Trump. Someone pointed out that these companies need to stay competitive for their shareholders, even if it means dealing with, let’s say, less-than-ideal figures.

The argument was that we need better regulation so these companies don’t have to seek blessings from certain presidents. Cuban countered that regulation could backfire, making it harder for American tech companies to compete with international giants like Alibaba or TikTok. The question was posed: Could you imagine if these Asian companies replaced American ones?

Honestly, yeah, I can imagine it. Would life really be that different? Whether it’s an American or Chinese oligarch stealing my data, or whether it’s Twitter or some foreign platform manipulating my thoughts, the end result is the same. These companies aren’t exactly coming at us with honesty and protecting our rights. They’re manipulating us at every turn and stealing our data. So, whether it’s the Chinese, Ukrainians, Russians, or Norwegians doing it, the outcome is the same for us regular folks.

For the ruling class, maybe there’s some benefit to having American friends in power, but for us average citizens, there’s no real difference. So, let’s drop this idea that Americans are somehow protecting us. That myth is long gone. If anything, if international companies became more competitive and exerted foreign influence, it might actually push us towards more federation and decentralization of our tech, something that’s currently stalled because we’re clinging to the idea that having Americans in charge is somehow better.

Trust me, if China controlled Twitter and Facebook and was manipulating elections like American companies do, governments would be actively seeking decentralized solutions to combat it. But hey, that’s just my take. Have a great one, and until next time, peace!

Ai Header Image Prompt: An abstract digital art masterpiece, highly detailed and intricately rendered. The composition features a complex, dynamic network of glowing, interconnected geometric forms and ethereal data streams. These digital pathways represent global technology and information flow. Elements within the network are subtly distorted or appear to be siphoned off, depicted by swirling, fragmented particles and delicate digital glitch effects, symbolizing data manipulation and control. Dominant forms suggest a central, all-encompassing system, while subtle, breaking-away elements or shimmering decentralized clusters hint at distributed power. The overall impression is one of a vast, intelligent system under contention, where the struggle for digital control plays out on an abstract, global scale. The color palette uses deep, reflective blues, cool purples, and emerald greens, contrasted with vibrant, electric accents of neon orange and yellow within the data streams, creating depth and a sophisticated, non-overtly AI aesthetic. Volumetric lighting and sharp focus emphasize the high level of detail and conceptual depth.
