Minority Spider Sense - Saturday!

What up, y’all! We’re back after a long day of travel. Yesterday was a haul; we left the resort around 10:30 AM and didn’t get home until after 1 AM. It was a grind, but we made it. My wife tried to pull a fast one on me this morning with some reverse psychology. She was all, “Are you even going to be able to wake up in the morning?” since I had to take my kid to snowboard class. As soon as she said that, I knew what she was up to! I was like, “Of course, I’m going to wake up! Why wouldn’t I?” Her saying that totally motivated me because I didn’t want to prove her right by sleeping in. So, here we are – woke and ready to go.

Traveling always has me on edge. Maybe it’s just my hyper-sensitivity to my surroundings. I feel like anyone who’s a minority or a person of color develops this sixth sense for skittishness around them. I’m not saying this dude was racist or anything, but I was at the urinal, and this guy next to me had some nervous energy. I was thinking, “Yo, why am I making this guy so nervous?” I don’t know if it was me making him nervous, but it felt like it. He just kept twitching, like he had a tick or something. It was a long flight, so me and him were both trying to set a record for the longest pee ever. He’s probably thinking, “What the hell?” because I’m not moving, he’s not moving, and all we hear are the streams hitting the urinal.

Afterward, I was telling my brother-in-law about the whole situation, how this guy in the stall next to me was acting hella skittish. I realized the guy was like right behind me, probably heard everything I said. Oh well, flying is fun! Anyway, we’re back home, and it’s cold and snowy. My dumb self forgot to set the thermostat back on before we left the resort. I turned it off when we left, but I was supposed to turn it back on before we were scheduled to come back, so the house was warm when we arrived. We get back, and the house is like 10 degrees Celsius! My wife is giving me the “What the hell did you do?” look. I’m like, “Oh, my bad, I forgot to turn it back on.” But hey, we doubled up on the blankets, and it’s back to normal now. Anyways, it’s Saturday, y’all! Have a great one until the next one. Peace!

Ai Header Image Prompt: Abstract digital art. A composition centered around a delicate, intricate web of interconnected, luminous lines and subtle, translucent geometric planes, representing a heightened, hyper-sensitive intuition. This web subtly vibrates and shifts, catching fragmented echoes of environmental energy – some patterns smooth and flowing in cool blues and deep purples, others jagged and erratic in muted, nervous greens and grays, signifying discomfort and skittishness. A long, thin, vertical element of soft, diffused light descends, suggesting a prolonged moment of observation. In the background, a subtle transition from icy, crystalline blues to soft, comforting ambers and a hint of snowy white texture. High quality, extremely detailed, ethereal glow, complex layers, no discernible human features or limbs, not overtly AI generated, avoiding text overlay.
