Valentine’s Day is a weird day, right? If you’re in a relationship, it’s like, okay, I gotta do something sweet. And if you’ve been in a relationship for so long, you’re just like, “I gotta do something sweet.” Then, if you’re a dude and you’re single on Valentine’s Day, I don’t even think you remember that it’s Valentine’s Day to begin with. You’re like, “Oh, it was Valentine’s Day? I guess I’m single.” And then it’s like, “I’m going to go back to doing what I’m doing,” because it doesn’t even register.

But I think if you’re a girl and it’s Valentine’s Day, it hits hard. I feel like society makes it seem like this is the day that… I think it’s so pressed on girls, like it’s a girl’s day. And I don’t mean to say that misogynistically, but Valentine’s Day is definitely marketed more toward women than it is men. Like, I don’t think any dude is like, “Oh, I didn’t get any Valentine’s Day gifts today,” whereas with females, it’s kind of like, “Oh, did you get your wife a Valentine’s Day gift? Did you get your girl a Valentine’s Day gift?” And if you’re a father and you got daughters, like, did you get your daughter a Valentine’s Day gift? Because you want everyone to feel loved and all that kind of stuff.

But with single women, it’s just kind of like the day hits you. I see a lot more sadness on TikTok and Instagram. “Oh, maybe next year. Maybe my first Valentine’s Day alone.” No guys are like, “This is my first Valentine’s Day alone.” But you see girls… I don’t know, wild, man.

Anyways, I think Valentine’s Day is somewhat overhyped. But if you are in a relationship, enjoy it, man! It gives you an excuse to go on a date, spend money, do fun things.
