Ford Wins Elections Done - Friday!
What is good, everybody! Welcome to Friday! Ontario’s provincial election is DONE. Doug Ford secured his majority, just like I said he would. No real surprises there. He did lose three seats, so his overall seat count dipped slightly, but this marks the first time a party in Ontario’s history has won three consecutive majority elections. This surprised me; I thought the Liberals had already achieved this, but apparently, on their third try, they secured a minority before finally getting a majority. So, there’s that.
But can we discuss Bonnie Crombie’s absolute defeat? She lost in her own riding, and I’m doing a victory lap for one reason: Ranjeet and Robbie mocked me on our podcast when I said Crombie wouldn’t be effective. They were all like, “What do you mean? Uncles love Crombie! She’s going to crush it! Doug is done!” They attacked my character for suggesting Crombie would be a non-factor. And look what happened? Non-factor! Where are those uncles now? Where’s all that Crombie love?
The best part about Crombie’s loss isn’t just the gloating (though I am gloating a bit). It’s that Patrick Brown’s pettiness led him to support his mother-in-law, who ran against Crombie. That’s pretty petty, right? And here’s the thing about Crombie: she clearly hates Brampton. There was that leaked audio where she said she doesn’t do events in Brampton because it’s not “her city.” She’s been against Brampton since she was married, even wanting to separate it from Peel Region. The fact that Bramptonians even considered her as a Liberal leader is ridiculous.
People say, “We have to support Bonnie, yo!” But do you guys understand? She hates Brampton! She mocks us! Thinking she’d help is naive. But even better, she lost to Patrick Brown, the mayor of Brampton’s, mother-in-law! That’s the epitome of petty. It’s something I respect. It’s like when Kendrick just kept going at Drake. The fact that Patrick Brown’s mother-in-law is the one who took out Bonnie Crombie from even getting her own seat is wild to me. That’s a level of hate I aspire to!
One of the best things about provincial elections is that they’re over. No more calls from that guy’s campaign office reminding me to vote, even though I’m not in his riding. If I showed you my phone, the number of missed calls and texts… holy moly! I get it, bro, you’re running. Chill out! I respect the hustle, but chill.
And now Crombie is staying on as Liberal leader? I don’t know how the party will cover her salary or how she’ll make ends meet without being elected or being a mayor. There are just so many L’s here for Crombie that it needs to be acknowledged.
Tag Ranjeet and Robbie in this. I don’t care what side of the political spectrum you’re on. Everyone has their reasons, and I respect that. But let’s all agree that Crombie’s campaign was an L in every facet: political, outsider, non-partisan, Liberal, NDP, fringe, conservative – it was a complete L. And I think we can rejoice a little bit in that. I was right! Ranjeet, Robbie, you were wrong! And you’re never going to do a podcast with me again, so I can say this without you coming back at me. Maybe you will, I don’t know. Anyways, if you see this, tag them in it just to remind them: what happened to Bonnie Crombie? Take it easy, till the next one. Peace!
