Happy Tariff Tuesday - Tuesday!

Yo, good afternoon! Happy Tariff Tuesday… again. We’re back in this whole tariff mix. Man, I don’t even want to talk about tariffs. There’s just not much I can say about it. The world is what it is. We’re getting tariffed, we’re tariffing back. What are you gonna do about it? It’s out of my control, not in my pay grade.

But it’s crazy ‘cause all my group chats are just this. This is the only thing everyone I know is talking about. Probably one of those old man effects – when you’re old, that’s all you talk about: politics, news, and money. And this is all intertwined. So, it’s not surprising that my group chats and everything are focused on this. Even at work, people are like, “Yo, you guys paying attention to the news?”

I’m trying my best to compartmentalize how much news I absorb because I do realize it affects my mental state and the way I see things and people. Like, why is this thing making me so emotional? Why is this affecting the way I think? Why is this hogging up all my brainpower? And then I post this on this channel, which is supposed to be a gaming channel! This is supposed to be the channel that I go to for relief from the real world. This is where I’m supposed to be talking about, like, Monster Hunter and playing Marvel Rivals. But it’s wild how do you find that escape these days when all you’re surrounded with is this negativity?

I’ve been listening to Bill Burr a lot, and Bill Burr talks about the same thing. He’s just like, “Yo, the more you listen to the news, the more you realize the news is shaped to get your attention. It’s shaped to keep you dragged into these culture wars, the way they pit you against each other.” He’s like, “People generally don’t dislike each other, but the news wants you to dislike each other ‘cause then you become Team Red or Team Blue.”

And then I’m thinking about George Carlin and all the stuff he’s always said about groups and how, as human individuals, we’re great. We can be independent, we’re free thinkers and all that. But the second we get in groups, we start adopting other people’s thoughts. I don’t know, it is wild. But how do you cope with the stress of all this?

The way I cope with it is simple: beyond my pay grade, nothing I can do about it, man. All I can do is think about it, but I don’t have enough capital to, like, benefit from or derive from the markets in any way. Obviously, you can vote when the time comes to vote for who you think can best handle that situation. But in the grand scheme of things, man, you gotta just focus on you. Focus on the small things. Touch snow, touch grass, touch ice.

I just want to go golf! Why can’t spring get here sooner, man? Get back to golf and get back to playing outside. And then when you’re just outside, you’re around people, you can talk to real people and realize that the world ain’t really burning down like that. But what else is there? Hopefully, you guys are having a dope ass day. I didn’t mean to get too down and too depressing.

But let’s just be honest, man. These guys in corporate suits running the top of one food chain in particular, they’re making life a little interesting. And I can’t help but wonder who saw this and thought, “Yeah, that’s what we need.” Like, how bad was America and how bad was life in America for people where this was the sanest option for them? That’s kind of where my thought process is at. I ain’t trying to blame anyone. I genuinely believe when we vote, everyone votes in their best interest, in the best interest of their family, and in the best interest of their communities. So how bad was stuff that this was the sanest option? That’s what I’m curious about right now.

Anyways, y’all have a dope ass Tuesday! Hopefully, this stuff isn’t dragging you down too much. Till the next one, peace!

Ai Header Image Prompt: An intricate, high-quality abstract digital art piece, rich with nuanced details. The composition features a dynamic interplay between two contrasting forces. On one side, sharp, angular geometric abstractions in a palette of deep, muted grays, steel blues, and distressed crimson hints evoke a sense of overwhelming data streams, fractured economic charts, and oppressive structures. These elements suggest mental burden and societal friction, with subtly textured surfaces that avoid a sterile, overtly 'AI' feel. Intertwined or breaking through this chaotic landscape are flowing, organic digital forms and luminous, ethereal gradients in vibrant hues of serene sky blue, lush verdant green, and soft golden light. These elements symbolize escape, nature, and mental clarity, offering a sense of calm and flow amidst the digital discord. The overall image maintains a sophisticated, abstract aesthetic, inviting contemplation without being literal. No human figures, hands, or limbs are present. The artwork should possess a painterly digital quality with subtle imperfections, ensuring it doesn't appear machine-generated.
