Fight Or Run!? - Saturday!

What is good, everyone? A little late today, but it’s been a long one. My kid finally finished his snowboarding classes, so my Saturdays are now free until I find another wonderful Saturday morning program to enroll him in. He might want to do soccer, so we’re going to try getting him into that next.

Anyway, how are you all doing? I saw this post that got my brain churning. Are things getting so bad that it’s time to just leave? Obviously, things have been escalating with our friends down south, with some threatening annexation. Maybe even the Cheeto Man Down South might want to actually pursue it. This got me thinking: is our military equipped to deal with this? I think so. For the most part, people would be down to fight. At least within my community, I know a lot of second-generation Sikhs who have enlisted in the military and serve as reservists, which I think is pretty dope.

But I saw this tweet where someone posted and they’re like, “You know what? With the way things are going up here in the West, with the rise of fascism and all that kind of stuff, maybe it’s time to book a second passport somewhere down south in South America or something and just get out of Dodge.” I was thinking, man, I can’t fathom thinking that just because things are getting rough, uncomfortable, or society is changing in a way we didn’t plan on, it’s time to move out of here instead of working to make society better and getting involved. Maybe they’re just like, “Yo, this is just not possible. Everyone’s just complicit.” I don’t know. I thought that was a whack way of thinking.

I can’t blame people for thinking that way, but then I’m thinking about the fact that a lot of immigrants came here. Their parents came here to escape bad government, persecution, and corruption. And maybe they’re like, “Hey, it’s just as bad here, so let’s just go back.” I can understand that a little bit better. But at the same time, I ain’t getting hunted down in the streets here—at least not yet. Like we would be in other places in the world, or we were at a specific time. I don’t know what you guys think. Would you run? Are things getting that bad here that you’re at the point where you’re like, “You know what? This corruption matches the corruption I left. Maybe it’s just time to go back to that corruption. At least I got better weather.” I’m not at that point. I don’t think I can ever be at that point, but I don’t know what you guys think. Let me know. Anyways, till the next one, peace!

Ai Header Image Prompt: A high-quality, highly detailed conceptual digital art piece, blending abstract expressionism with contemporary digital painting. The image visually encapsulates the profound dilemma of 'fight or run' in the face of societal challenges. One half of the composition is dominated by strong, upward-striving fragmented geometric forms and rich, deep colors (crimson, charcoal, dark teal), subtly evoking the idea of resilience, collective strength, and a challenging but firm stand. Abstract elements hint at a nation or community, without literal flags or symbols. The other half transitions into expansive, fluid shapes and cooler, ethereal tones (soft blues, muted greens, hazy greys), conveying a sense of distance, escape, and an uncertain, open horizon. Dynamic, swirling lines and layered transparency weave through the composition, symbolizing internal conflict and external pressures. The overall aesthetic is painterly and textured, avoiding a sterile or overtly smooth digital appearance. No discernible human figures to prevent AI artifacts; rather, a sense of human perspective is implied through the composition. No text or bold titles superimposed on the image.
