Mundus Sine Caesaribus - A World Without Caesars - Tuesday!

Yo, good morning, everyone! I gotta share something I thought was pretty badass. The Blue Sky CEO, Jay Graber, the other day was on a tech panel at South by Southwest, and she wore this shirt that said “Mundus Sine Caesaribus,” which is a play on a shirt that Zuckerberg wore when he was doing his big keynote where he was announcing, like, his new Oculus glasses. He wore a shirt that said “Oculus ex Zucks.” These are Latin words, and I’ve never studied Latin, so if I’m butchering it, you guys can let me know in the comments how bad my freaking pronunciation is.

His shirt was a play on the saying “Aut Caesar aut nihil,” which translates to “Caesar or nothing.” His shirt basically translated to “Zuck or nothing,” or “Zuck or no one,” kind of saying, “I’m the big I am, Caesar!” Whereas the Blue Sky CEO’s shirt was basically like, “A world without Caesars!”

And I feel that, man. I hate these freaking billionaire, oligarch tech junkies, nerds, whatever, man. These guys are annoying as hell. I come from, like, in tech, there are two schools of thought: there’s the open source, everything should be open, it’s all tools, let’s all share this stuff and keep it open and free data for everyone type thing, and then there’s the opposite side, which was like the Bill Gates, the Microsofts, the Facebooks, the big, big tech company CEO stuff, which I find hella annoying.

So, I’m all for the fediverse and, like, Mastodon and Blue Sky and all these open-source alternatives to this stuff to take over because God forbid these oligarchs make any more money off our freaking data and content. While I’m still a hypocrite, admittedly, because I’m on all these other platforms, ‘cause obviously, you gotta go where the people are, and I just hope that the people someday choose to be free.

But I thought that shirt was badass, man. Zuck saying, “Yo, I’m Caesar! I am the king!” and her worldview was, “Yo, no Kings, no Caesars, a world without Caesars!” I’m all for it. Anyways, man, y’all have a great ass day! Till the next one, peace!

Ai Header Image Prompt: High quality, highly detailed abstract digital art illustration. The composition depicts a large, monolithic, decaying or fragmenting structure, subtly reminiscent of a classical bust or an oppressive, centralized server, dissolving into countless luminous, interconnected data points and an intricate, vibrant web of fractal-like networks. This sprawling, free-flowing network expands outwards into an open, boundless digital expanse, symbolizing decentralization and liberation. The color palette blends deep purples and blues with neon accents of green and electric white, suggesting a dynamic, evolving landscape. The style should feel modern and slightly ethereal, with elements of glitch art and data visualization, avoiding a hyper-realistic or overly smooth 'AI-generated' appearance. Focus on symbolic forms rather than literal figures. Ensure no identifiable human faces, hands, or limbs are present, only abstract representations of connection and power's dissipation.
