Stanley Cup Chaos, Data Brokers & Sociopaths: What Timeline Are We In?
Yo, congratulations to the Florida Panthers, man! Stanley Cup champions for this year. It’s wild, which technically makes my Toronto Maple Leafs the runners-up since they were the only ones who took Florida to seven games. Oh, this is wild, man.
So, the Florida Panthers, as you know, beat the Edmonton Oilers last night. And what seemed like it was going to be a great series, the times that Florida won, man, they beat them so convincingly that Edmonton had nothing left, which was kind of crazy. And then right after the game, I, you know, obviously I’m friends with a lot of Leafs fans, and they were kind of like, look, the Leafs were the only ones who really put it to these Panthers. So, by no rule of our own, we’re the runners-up. So, yeah, the Leafs are that much closer to the Stanley Cup, I guess.
But hey, for whatever it’s worth, this might be the last Stanley Cup before the world starts nuking itself because we got a bunch of sociopaths who are keen to just blow everything up. So, congrats, I guess. I don’t know, man. Amongst all this chaos, I was talking in my last video about all the chaos that’s happening in the world that it’s hard to keep our head wrapped around. And obviously, we use sports as a way to escape all the realities of war and everything going on around us.
And while this is all going on, the one thing I’m like watching this game for is I’m just feeling for this one bettor who had a $13 parlay that he made that relied on the Oilers and OKC to win. And at one point when Edmonton went up game one, this guy’s $13 parlay was worth $130,000! And I was like, “Brother, you should have cashed out! You should have hit that cash out!”
But yeah, this sports betting, all this stuff just distracts us from the chaos going on around us. And one of the things that I remembered when I was watching this video, I’m like, “Oh, I didn’t even talk about that state representative!” There was a Democratic state representative and her husband who were murdered, and a state senator and his wife, I think, were critically injured in separate cases where this deranged psychopath was going around. He’s a Republican going after Democratic leaders, and he visited some other folks. And what’s crazy to me is when I was reading up on the story, he was getting their data from data brokers.
These big billion-dollar companies, and even small million-dollar companies, they sell your data to websites and stuff who take all our IPs, all the information that they get, all these little apps, everything they collect about you, they then sell it to data brokers who like massage the data and then they go and make it publicly accessible and sell it to other companies. Like it just gets, you know, it goes through this whole funnel of data. And it’s crazy, like all this publicly accessible stuff… on a very, very…
I don’t know, I went from the Stanley Cup to this. This is insane. That’s the chaos that my brain is in right now, right? We got sociopaths. We got billionaires, you know, selling our souls. And now we got…I don’t know. I’m going all over the place. I don’t know what I’m really trying to say because my brain is just flustered right now. But it’s insane. We live in insane times. This is just me reiterating that. Once again, I couldn’t stay on topic because I don’t know what the topic really is these days.
These days, the topic is just be happy to be alive. Be happy that the weather’s nice. Be happy that your loved ones are close, man. ‘Cause the world, it’s insane. So insane that a Canadian team hasn’t been able to win the Stanley Cup playoffs in over 30 years, and that 12 expansion teams have come and won the Stanley Cup before the Leafs. That’s where this whole world is going, man. Insane times, insane things. And my brain, yeah, she is insane. Anyway, y’all have a great day, man. Until the next one.
