WESTJET Seat Recline BAN? Tall Guy Perspective: It's About TIME! 😤 #WestJet

Yo, I don’t know if you guys saw this, but WestJet reportedly announced they’re removing the ability to recline on their economy fare seats. And I, for one, think it’s about damn time! I absolutely hate going on an airplane and having the person in front of me lean back.

Listen, I understand you paid for your ticket and you want to be comfortable. But I’m a big fella – I’m 6’1ā€, definitely above average – and when people lean back, there’s already so little legroom to begin with. Their seatbacks end up practically in my knees, and it’s just not comfortable. I know some people say, ā€œWell, just lean back on the person behind you!ā€ But honestly, I don’t like it when people lean back on me, so why would I do it to someone else? On occasion, I do lean back, and then I just feel guilty about it, but I’m like, whatever.

Let’s just make it all equal: remove the ability for anyone to lean back. That way, I can’t lean back, you can’t lean back, and everyone’s got the same amount of seating space. No one is left uncomfortable. I think this is a fantastic move and should have been implemented a long time ago. Everyone complains, ā€œWell, the airline companies already give us so little!ā€ I get it; if you really, really want more legroom, we should be paying premium, but not all of us can afford that extra price tag.

So, let’s just keep it simple. No one can lean back. If you truly want to recline, then move up a few rows and get that spacious seating if you can afford it. But seriously, I think it’s about time, man. What do you guys think? I feel like we’re all equal here. No one’s getting disturbed. No one’s tray table is hitting them in the chest just because the person in front of them was reckless with the recline button. Keep it fair. Keep it simple. And hey, I hope Air Canada follows suit. That’s just me, though. What do you guys think? Till the next one. Peace.

Ai Header Image Prompt: A highly detailed and stylized digital painting, incorporating elements of abstract digital art. The central focus is a tall Sikh man, wearing a turban, seated in a cramped economy airplane seat. He looks directly forward with a thoughtful, slightly exasperated expression, his knees visibly close to the back of the reclined seat in front of him, emphasizing the lack of legroom. The space around him and the immediate seat area should be rendered with geometric abstract lines and shapes that visually convey a sense of confinement and the invasion of personal space. Above or around the encroaching seat, subtle, balanced abstract forms or a shift to cleaner, more open geometric patterns could subtly represent the concept of fairness and equal space. The color palette should be dynamic, using slightly muted but rich tones to evoke discomfort, with hints of brighter, more balanced hues suggesting resolution. Cinematic lighting, sharp focus, intricate details on the man's expression and the textures of the seat. Ensure anatomically correct and natural-looking hands and limbs. The overall art style should be an expressive illustration with a modern, clean finish, avoiding an overtly AI-generated appearance.
