Yo, Blue Jays fans, we lost. And there’s no way around it – it absolutely sucks. To be honest, it sucks even more because we were this close. Three outs away from glory, and they just came up big when it mattered most. I’ve seen a lot of people dissecting every little detail, nitpicking “what if this happened?” or “what if Isiah Kiner-Falefa (IKF) was a foot further from the bag?” There are a million “what ifs” in a game like this, but I’m not one to play the hindsight 20/20 game or be an armchair quarterback the next day. For me, we lost because we got unlucky. I don’t think we played bad, not at all. Sure, there were moments where we could’ve done a little better, but we were up against a team that delivered in the biggest moments. There were so many freak plays, so many unlucky bounces. An inch to the left, an inch to the right, and we’d be having a completely different conversation right now. I just can’t shake the feeling that luck wasn’t on our side. It was a great game, though, from start to finish, full of incredible ups and downs. Remember Bo Bichette’s beautiful three-run home run? That had us all amped! But then, we just couldn’t get that cushion, those much-needed insurance runs. Especially when we had the bases loaded with only one out, our inability to capitalize on those golden opportunities really came back to bite us. So, congratulations to the Dodgers and their fans who are celebrating. It stings for us, because this truly was a magical, magical run. It’s a run I’ll remember forever, especially since I got to enjoy it with my kids, who were staying up late yesterday, just as invested. I hope they remember it too, that despite the outcome, it was incredibly fun. And it sucks that the fun is over, that we don’t get that championship glow. But hey, there’s always next year. I don’t know what the team will look like, or how it’ll play out, but I genuinely loved watching this team. I don’t want this feeling to be over; I’d love to do this again next year, and I’m sure all of you would agree. They say it’s a “game of inches,” and that cliché couldn’t be more true for this one. It truly came down to a freaking game of inches – some unlucky drops for us, and some lucky stops for them. Ah man, it is what it is. What else can I say? Anyway, have a great day, everyone. Till the next one!
