I Was WRONG About Marvel: DAREDEVIL is a MASTERPIECE & Jon Bernthal's PUNISHER is S-Tier!
Wow, you all were right about Daredevil, man. This show is freaking amazing! For whatever reason, I’ve been slow to re-engage with post-Avengers Marvel content. The canon that came after the original Avengers movies was a bit hit-or-miss for me, so I’d largely stayed on the sidelines.
Only recently, likely spurred by the hype for Marvel Rivals, have I started getting back into it. And let me tell you, Daredevil was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, this show is a masterpiece. The one-cut fight scenes, the incredible camera work, the brilliant plot, and the phenomenal casting – it all comes together perfectly.
Before watching Daredevil, I was skeptical about Jon Bernthal playing The Punisher. I love the character, but I always pictured Punisher as a big guy, and Bernthal seemed a bit shorter. I wasn’t sure if I could get my mind around it. But wow, the guy absolutely killed it as Punisher! Now I know I have to go watch his full Punisher series.
I just feel like I’ve been sleeping on so much good Marvel content. Every Marvel show I’ve watched this year, largely playing catch-up because Marvel Rivals really piqued my interest, has been phenomenal. It just slaps, man! It’s all been stuff where I’m like, ‘Yo, this is amazing!’
I’ve also watched Cloak & Dagger and Moon Knight. While I understand Cloak & Dagger isn’t considered a top-tier show by everyone, Moon Knight was incredibly solid. And Daredevil? Absolutely amazing. And can we talk about Kingpin? The casting for Kingpin was fantastic, and the way they developed these characters back to being magnificent was just brilliant.
Now, I’m legitimately curious: what else have I been sleeping on? What other superhero or Marvel shows did I ignore? What other TV shows, underrated gems perhaps, have I missed out on? I feel like I’ve been sleeping on a lot of great television, possibly due to superhero fatigue or whatever it was.
