Humble the Poet SEXUAL ASSAULT Allegations??
Alright, let’s dive into it. If you’ve been following me, you probably know what this is about. We’re talking about the recent allegations against Humble the Poet. I don’t even know how to preface this, or if I should even be covering it. But here we go.
For those who don’t know, Humble the Poet just released a new self-help book about loving yourself and overcoming hate with love. Sounds good, right? But it seems he might have gotten caught up in “loving” a little too much, allegedly.
Dayle McLeod, a Canadian actress, posted on TikTok accusing Humble the Poet of sexually assaulting her on a date in 2019. She claims he hit her, choked her, forced her to perform sexual acts, and wouldn’t let her leave his apartment for hours. She also mentioned a court case that lasted 18 months and her frustration with him being a “poster boy” for an organization for sexual assault survivors. She is upset that he is now giving advice about love, seemingly without acknowledging the pain he inflicted.
Now, the big question: did she press charges? Honestly, it’s tough to know what’s legit. There are comments all over social media expressing support for the accuser, but it is difficult to know. I even called up a lawyer friend to get some insight. He looked up the case in the Ontario court system, and it seems the judge threw the case out because Dayle didn’t show up to court after 18 months.
But here’s the kicker: Dayle has another TikTok explaining that the case was happening during COVID, leading to cancellations and rescheduling. Eventually, the judge double-booked herself and chose another case. Dayle said the Crown Attorney advised her to pursue a peace bond, where he had to do community service, consent training, and donate to a charity. She hoped this would lead to repentance and repair. But now, seeing him on a book tour, she feels that hasn’t happened.
She even admits she could be sued for libel, but feels compelled to speak out, hoping it might give him another chance at restorative justice. She believes he’ll likely deny everything. The fact remains, if these allegations are true, it’s a terrible look.
If he’s watching this, I suggest he take a good look in the mirror and consider some serious self-reflection. Reading a book on repentance isn’t enough; he needs to own his actions and stop gaslighting the victim. Because if you don’t feel guilt about doing something like that, then something is seriously wrong.
I 100% believe Dayle, but again, we don’t know the full details. Humble the Poet isn’t a stranger to controversy. I hope this situation gets resolved and that everyone involved finds peace, whatever the truth may be.
