Amritpal Singh Addresses Sikh Sangat For FIRST TIME Since March 18th
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
Many of you watching this probably know what’s happening in Punjab. But for those who don’t, last week, on March 18th, the Punjab government initiated a statewide internet lockdown that lasted several days. They also arrested numerous Sikh youth believed to have any connection to Amritpal Singh, rounding up anyone associated with his campaign to get youth off drugs in Punjab. Several of Amritpal Singh’s closest aides were arrested, charged under the National Security Act (NSA), and deported to Assam, where they’ve been locked up.
There’s been much speculation online that Amritpal Singh himself had already been captured, with police denying the arrest, or that he was in Assam, charged under the NSA, or even killed and his body disappeared – a tactic the Indian police have used in the past. All of this led to the constant release of poorly done Photoshop renders and pixelated CCTV videos, supposedly showing him all over India, having cut his hair, changed his appearance – a chameleon impossible to catch. The Indian media even put out AI-generated voice notes.
After a full week, Amritpal Singh finally released a video, proving he’s alive and addressing everything that’s been happening. He spoke about March 18th, explaining that they were headed to Malwa to start a drug rehabilitation camp. It seemed they were tipped off about potential actions and decided to get to safety, regroup, and assess the situation.
He managed to evade arrest with the blessing of Waheguru. After reconnecting and getting online, he expressed gratitude to everyone supporting him, calling out the fake lies, and believing in him. He looked genuine, though perhaps his health is suffering from being on the run. Concerns that the video was doctored are unfounded, given the poor quality of previous attempts.
In the video, Amritpal Singh remained consistent with his message: Sikhs are being targeted by the state whenever they assert their sovereignty or rights. He highlighted that the events of the past week prove this point. He called for the release of those arrested and emphasized the need for a Sarbat Khalsa on Vaisakhi, urging unity to demonstrate that the Sikh community cannot be crushed for expressing their beliefs or needs. He questioned the application of the NSA, contrasting its use against Sikhs with the lack of action against Hindu nationalists.
Amritpal Singh addressed criticisms about being on the run and not surrendering. He explained the initial need to assess the situation and the subsequent realization that many innocent Sikh youth had been arrested. He stated his willingness to surrender, but now with the world watching, ensuring his safety and fair treatment.
He is in Chardi Kala, and no one could harm him. Sachay Patshah has had him travel on a difficult path and taken his test, but God has given him support and blessed him beyond words. To be able to escape such a massive cordon- this was a great blessing of Sachay Patshah.
If they really wanted to arrest him, they could have done so at any time without making this a whole big thing, but they didn’t. Now, if they want to arrest him, they got to do everything by the book now.
This situation requires unification within communities. A Sarbat Khalsa is needed to show unification and to continue calling out injustices. I’m with Amritpal Singh and support him fully. Let’s unite as a Khalsa and show some unification and really continue to call out everything that’s happening against us. If we hide in our houses today in fear, our future generations will never forgive us.
