Brampton's New Anthem? - 410 By Sunny Malton & Sidhu Moosewala

Brampton’s New Anthem? - 410 By Sunny Malton & Sidhu Moosewala - Review

Yo, so I had to react to this track, “410” by Sunny Malton and the late, great Sidhu Moosewala. For those not in the know, the 410 is the highway in Brampton. It’s the only one that cuts through North and South, but let’s be real, it’s a nightmare. Always jammed, especially during rush hour. If you’re stuck on the 410, kiss your workday goodbye. Brampton’s a commuter city, you know? No one works in Brampton, everyone’s always leaving. So, naturally, the 410 becomes a parking lot. But hey, now it’s got an anthem! I’m here for it.

Funny story, the last time I reacted to a Sidhu video, it was a Sidhu and Sunny collab. It was literally the night before his passing. My buddy asked if I was still gonna post it, and I was like, “Nah, doesn’t feel right.” Crazy how things line up. Rest in peace, Sidhu.

Shout out to Yo Jo for the video! I’ve seen his stuff before. And shout out to Tatter! The visuals are sick. But hold up, this ain’t Brampton. Where are the warehouses, man? Sunny Malton’s on point, though. They just made a fortune. But here’s my thing: if you’re committing crimes, the last place you want to be is stuck in 410 traffic, you’re gonna get caught! Doesn’t make sense in the song.

Welcome to the region, P is getting scary. Sunny Malton is from Malton and Derry, so it’s Derry and the 410. I’m being a bit critical, but they should have moved him so he’s standing on Malton. Then it wouldn’t be about the 410. I see this road and exit sign daily on my morning commute. Love the Brampton visuals.

There we go! I see this road and exit sign daily. It’s my morning commute. Yo, I’ve always wanted to do a photo project, hitting up all the Brampton neighborhoods I grew up in, like Malton. I got love for Malton, for real. Sunny Malton’s been hitting the gym. Looking dangerous. Wouldn’t wanna mess with him.

He said he’s got hits from Degrassi, which is Drake for those who don’t know. Flashy whips out here, man! Everyone’s stories start in Malton and migrate to Brampton. We had this crazy exodus from Malton to Springdale back in the early 2000s, it was insane. Has Sunny done anything since Sidhu’s passing? This beat goes hard, I actually dig this.

They got a mural of Moosewala by Self Lickers? I haven’t been down there in ages! I love the shadow visuals in the video. The way they did the shadow rapping and found a dude to tie the pagh like that. Dope! Clark Boulevard exit is a shortcut to Brampton City Centre if you’re from around here. Queen’s exit is hectic. Just a heads up.

That shadow in the car visual was sick, too. Oh, that’s Molton right? Wearing a Death Row shirt! Remember those? I had a fake Death Row chain from Shoppers World back in the day. I was corny as [__]. Don’t judge me! Shout out to Sonia from the McLaughlin side! Should’ve had her in the video.

I love the shadow visuals. This hook is amazing, I disagree with anyone who says it sucks. Everyone’s gonna be on the 410, someone’s gonna ask where they are, and they’re gonna say, “I’m on the 410, 410!” Exactly like that. It’s catchy. Straight TikTok hook material.

Sunny Malton’s a nice guy. Played baseball against him back in the day. We were both backups of the backups, haha. Sunny Tatter’s talented with the video. Rest in peace to the [__], go baby!

The video’s cool, I don’t think Sunny ruins it. My beef with this song is it’s promoting crime. Maybe 20 years ago I’d be bumping this hard, but now? Nah. I feel like everyone who’s gonna steal a car or hold up a house is gonna bump this as their anthem. And that bugs me. I’m turning into those old heads complaining about rap music promoting gun culture. Damn.

You guys gave it a five out of ten? For me, this is a seven. I’d bump this if I didn’t think the guys stealing RAV4s out of driveways were bumping it too. This is the extortionist theme song. But overall, I love the beat. I don’t know who did the beat. Sunny produced it! That’s wild! Savvy Singh, Preach and Jol T on visuals. I like the beat though.

I don’t hate on Sunny Malton. I actually kind of enjoy him. It’s a seven for me because I would totally bump this 10 years ago. The only reason I’m not bumping it today is because I feel like the person who’s stealing my RAV4 is bumping this, and we can’t be friends.

Ring ring ring - that’s a sick line though! Sidhu had good lyrics. I missed him in his prime, regretfully. I think I crossed paths with him, but I did miss him in his prime, I’ll be the first to admit, I usually discover people well after the gun.

Ai Header Image Prompt: High-quality, highly detailed image. An abstract, dynamic perspective of a bustling urban highway at twilight, reminiscent of the 410 in Brampton. The road is a river of glowing, streaking light trails from an endless flow of traffic, forming intricate patterns that evoke sound waves and musical rhythm. In the background, the subtle, geometric forms of industrial warehouses and distant city lights merge into the dimming sky, reflecting a commuter city's pulse. Ethereal, shadowy silhouettes, almost like digital ghosts or abstract figures, emerge from or interact with the light trails, representing the artists and the pervasive influence of the music. One silhouette might subtly hint at a ceremonial headwear (pagh) through its form, while another embodies raw, powerful energy. Elements of glitch art, digital distortion, and volumetric light rays weave through the scene, creating a sense of a living, breathing digital landscape. The color palette is rich with deep blues, purples, grays, contrasted sharply with vibrant neon streaks of red, orange, and yellow from the vehicle lights. The overall aesthetic is a fusion of urban realism and abstract digital painting, with a focus on painterly textures, atmospheric depth, and motion blur to create a dynamic yet contemplative mood. The human forms, if present, are highly stylized and abstract, ensuring appropriate rendering. No text or titles on the image.
