Where Would You Rather Be Right Now? - Friday!
Yo, what is good, fam? Man, this world and all the news lately are just feeling super heavy, you know? It’s Friday, and I’m here, trying not to get too sucked into all the depressing news. It’s hard to break free because it’s just constantly there.
We were at Pizza Pizza yesterday. I took my kid there for a post-school meal – snack, lunch, dinner, I don’t know. CP24 was on, which we don’t usually watch at home. My kid was just enamored by the news: truck robbery, plane crash, some jewelry store in Brampton getting robbed, someone wanted by the police. He was watching all this and asking, “Hold on, he’s a bad guy? He’s out on the loose? People are stealing?” His brain was like, “What is going on in the world?” I thought, “Holy smokes, it’s probably good we don’t play this at home.”
It made me think about when I was constantly on Twitter and social media, just getting random information thrown at me that I couldn’t really do anything with. Man, it got me thinking: I really want to be somewhere else, somewhere far, far away from here. So, I was like, yo, if you could be anywhere right now, with instant teleportation, breaking free from social media and all the noise around you, where would you want to be?
Obviously, just a few weeks ago, I was in Mexico. Beautiful place, loved it, and would probably go back in an instant if I could. But part of me was like, “You know where I really want to be right now?” I want to be on top of a mountain with my snowboard gear, in Japan specifically. Or maybe even Kelowna. Just hanging out because there’s either no reception or pretty bad reception. You can’t really sit there watching reels, or maybe you can; I don’t know. But I figure in Japan, you probably can’t—who am I kidding? Maybe you could, but you wouldn’t want to because you’d have gloves on.
Yeah, so if I could be anywhere, it’d be Japan, on a mountain, just hanging out. I feel like that’d be fun. That’s where I want to be at this very moment if I could just instant transmission myself there. How about you? Would you want to break free? A lot of people don’t want to break free, though; a lot of people like being plugged in. Trust me, you gotta plug out sometimes. Seeing my kid plugged in made me really want to be like, “Oh, it’s probably good to plug out every now and then.” So anyway, y’all, let me know what you guys think. Peace!
